Liverpool’s Legendary Band The Pies Play Rare Live Show At The Epstein
One year on from the release of their debut album, The Pies are back with another rare live performance, this time at The Epstein Theatre on Friday 20th October!
Formed in the late 80’s, The Pies were regulars on the Liverpool music scene until their untimely split in 1993 without even a debut album to their name. Guitarist, singer and songwriter Ashley Martin knew he had to continue with the legacy of The Pies and decided to form a new line-up.
The band were also famous for their graffiti placed around the region, the most popular and well known being on a bridge across the M57 at Switch Island. THE PIES is mysteriously replaced every time it is removed.
Their first album was released last year under the title Best of Pies and featured new songs as well as songs they have performed in occasional appearances over the years.
The band try to encourage and support local emerging artists, and provide many with the opportunity to perform at their shows. This concert will feature plenty of fresh talent including: Liverpool’s own Mark Roberts the world’s most prolific streaker, who will be causing laughs aplenty with his very first comedy stand-up spot; as well as performances from singer-songwriter Anthony Miller, a debut performance from duet Holly Fearnon and Calum Harrison, and 14-year-old singer and ukulele player Bethany Hamm.
