13 Sporting Challenges To Sign Up For In 2017
It’s the start of a brand new year and time to gear yourself up for a fresh set of challenges for the year. We’ve compiled 13 challenges to sign up for this year to keep your health goals firmly on track.
- Spring City Spring 5k or 10k (Sefton Park) – The 2017 event takes place over the weekend of Sat 6th May (5k and Kids 1k) and Sun 7th May (10k). Sign up here.
- Swim 22 (In aid of Diabetes UK) – Between 22 February and 22 May 2017 you’ll swim the equivalent of the English Channel in your local pool. That’s 22 miles! Find out more information here.
- Run For the 96/ 5k – The third Run For The 96/5K is now confirmed for 14th May. This year’s event will be complemented by a new 1 Mile Fun Run, so now everyone can take part in this great event. Sign up here.
- Rock’n’Roll Marathon & Half Marathon – One of the most enjoyable marathons out there, get serenaded around the course with stages set along the way to keep you going on 27th & 28th May. Register here.
- Race For Life 5K Aintree Racecourse – The Cancer Research 5k will bring  a sea of pink to Aintree on 18th June. Registration is currently closed until mid-January but visit the link here for more information.Â
- Pretty Muddy 5k Sefton Park – Due to the runaway (pun intended) success of Cancer Research’s Race For Life and Tough Mudder, Pretty Muddy is a nice compromise. For a taste of muddy fun and obstacles register your interest here.Â
- Color Obstacle Rush 5k – Combining the fun of colour, an obstacle course, foam, music and more. See main image above. Sign up here.
- Vitality Half Marathon – The 24th Liverpool Half Marathon date is now confirmed as 2nd April. Entry fees  are reduced up to the end of April so don’t wait, sign up now here.
- Liverpool – Chester – Liverpool Bike Ride – If cycling is more your thing then is a non – competitive bike ride which covers a range of distances from 5 miles to 100 miles, for all the family and abilities depending on the chosen route. For more info and to sign up click here.Â
- Scouse 5k – The Scousest of all events, the Scouse 5k is great fun and you can sign up now here.Â
- Tunnel Run 10k – The tunnel run returns with a new date, due to significant local transport works taking place over the first six months of 2017. This is a popular one and always a good atmosphere so this is a good one to sign up to. Register up here.
- Triathlon – No dates have been announced but keep any eye out on the website here for confirmation.
- Santa Dash 5k – The date is yet to be confirmed but it’s usually the first Sunday in December for a festive race like no other. Let’s not talk about Christmas 2017 just yet though….
