Fiesta Bombarda At Liverpool Cathedral

Fiesta Bombarda to host their biggest carnival to date in Liverpool Cathedral

Prepare yourselves for the biggest Fiesta Bombarda to date, as radiant brass melodies and rousing African rhythms are set to entwine themselves around one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings for two days in January 2017.

In assocation with Africa Oyé, organisers are excited to reveal that Ibibio Sound Machine will be playing on the Friday of the festival at Liverpool Cathedral. Fronted by London-born Nigerian singer Eno Williams, IBIBIO SOUND MACHINE is a clash of African and electronic elements inspired in equal measure by the golden era of West-African funk & disco and modern post-punk & electro.

The group join Ninja Tune’s dazzingly eclectic producer, ROMARE on the Friday line-up with more acts to be announced soon.

The Saturday of the two-day event sees the multi-talented maestro BEARDYMAN take to the stage a master class in improvisation, beat boxing and many more surprises. Alongside him will be the return of the brass powerhouses RENEGADE BRASS BAND and roots-reggae sensations JERAMIAH FERRARI.

Joining the Fiesta’s biggest ever line up will also be Bombarda Residents, Fiesta Face Paints, immersive carnival décor and Heartbeat Community & Bring the Fire Project Drum Workshop.
