Secret Diners Get First Look At Buyers Club

Diners at the unconventional pop-up restaurant Secret Diners Club got an exclusive and private preview of brand new Liverpool venue Buyers Club this weekend.

Continuing its streak of surprising guests, Secret Diners Club kept diners in the dark about the exact location of the dinner right up until the day of the event. Only when the gates were opened to the Hardman Street venue did the gathered crowd have any idea of where they would be spending their evening.

As Buyers Club doesn’t open to the public until 5 October, the venue is still undergoing work and had a stripped back appearance on Saturday, befitting the Secret Diners Club’s unique and rustic approach to fine dining.

Like all of its events, the 6 course menu was also kept under wraps throughout the evening with guests not knowing what they had eaten until the end of service when the full list of dishes was revealed.

Run by a stellar line up of key players from Liverpool’s food, drink and music scene, Buyers Club, is set to be one of the most exciting venues to open in Liverpool in recent years.

Sam Tawil of Bold Street Coffee, Miles Falkingham of Camp & Furnace, Daniel Heffy and Michael Harrison of Secret Diners Club, and Andrew Hill of various club nights around the city including Abandon Silence will all be running different aspects of the venue, which consists of a dining room, bar, music venue and impressive outdoor space.

The Dining Room of Buyers Club, where Saturday’s event took place, has been designed with the Secret Diners Club’s ethos in mind as the chefs are located within the room and as close to the guests as possible.

Daniel Heffy, Chef and Co-founder of Secret Diners Club and Buyers Club, said:

“We are delighted to have successfully held our first event at Buyers Club, it was great to kick things off with a Secret Diners Club! Buyers Club opens to the public on 5 October so Saturday’s diners were the first to experience the new venue. Secret Diners Club will continue to pop-up in exciting and unique spaces across the city, watch this space.”

Dates for the next Secret Diners Club event will be announced soon, follow @sdc_lpool on Twitter and Instagram to be the first to find out or email [email protected] to be added to the mailing list.
