Liverpool rockers GUISE have announced that they have applied to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

The contest will take place in Liverpool and the band have strong Irish roots, making them a fantastic contender to represent Ireland.

GUISE’s lead vocalist, Louie James’ family originate from County Armagh and she is incredibly proud of her Irish roots which is why the band have chosen to apply to represent Ireland. Louie’s late father, Nicky James, was an Irish and Country Musician who was well respected in the Irish community and music scene. He was a mentor to Irish music sensation, Nathan Carter during the early stages of his career.

In March 2022, GUISE opened up for Nathan Carter in the Liverpool Irish Centre for a charity concert in memory of Louie’s father Nicky James and in aid of the children’s hospital, Alder Hey – collectively they raised approximately £7,000 for the cause in his memory.

GUISE first came on the scene in April 2021 and have released 6 singles and 5 music videos. They also sold out our first ever headline show just three weeks after tickets went on sale.
