Junkyard Golf Club: First Look Inside

From humble beginnings Junkyard Golf Club has become one of the UK’s most popular crazy golf destinations with locations in Leeds, Manchester, Oxford, London and now Liverpool.

We were invited down for a first look of the venue last week and we can honestly say it’s one of the coolest new places in the city and an absolute must for crazy golf fans. Liverpool has a reputation as a fun city and so it’s a no-brainer that Junkyard Golf Club decided that it’s next venue would be in the heart of Liverpool One.

Junk Yard Golf Club Cage Fighting Bears

With three 9-hole golf courses to choose from and each one looking as amazing as the one before, your first dilemma will be deciding which one to take. There’s Gary (scrapyard course), Bozo (a very creepy clown/circus themed course) and Pablo (tropical madness awaits). Read more about the three course further down in this feature.

What we really love about Junkyard Golf Club is the amount of Instagrammable spots there are spread throughout the course, in fact we’re calling it now, it’s probably one of the best Instagrammable spots in the city. And there’s even a slide! Yes, a slide. Also worth mentioning is the super cool Selfie Booth where you can create your own animated gifs and send them to your phone for free, try and resist it we dare you!

Junk Yard Golf Club Liverpool UV

At Junkyard Golf Club each hole on each course has some sort of unique feature and a talking point – the devil is in the detail and you can tell just how much passion has gone into creating the place. There’s the Hall of Mirrors on the Bozo course and the UV garage room which is home to several unique holes for you to have a rave in.

Now let’s talk about the cocktails…The cocktail menu is amazing; expect retro sweets to accompany your pun-titled drinks like the Got Gum Hun? (Malibu, Coconut, Cream, Bubblegum and Pineapple) or the brilliantly named and on trend Drank U Next – Beefeater Pink Gin, Elderflower, Strawberry Puree, Strawberry Ribena, Lemon and Lemonade. And if you’re feeling like some food then the Junk Yard Golf Club team are on hand to fuel you around the course with some ‘Junk Food’ (Hot Dogs, Nachos, Popcorn and Pick & Mix are all on offer).

There’s four bars dotted around the golf courses, serving up these epic cocktails to keep you energised as you make your way around the yard.

THE COURSES

PABLO – POLLUTED PARADISE
Booyaka, booyaka – jungle is massive! Take an excursion into the unknown as you navigate 9 holes of polluted paradise. A once tranquil wild world, now sullied by creeping humanization. Putt your way through the litter strewn jungle, around toxic tree frogs, past a deep cave bear wrestling cage and a Rihanna themed forest bathroom, until you reach the oil soaked ocean and Rio-On-Sea. Is it golf? Baby don’t hurt me. Don’t hurt me. No more.

GARY – IT’S A SCRAPYARD TING
You used to call me on my shellphone… late night snacks. This course has all of your garage needs, think 90’s tunes, a scrapyard slide and of course a UV garage room! Wind your way through written-off cars and auto-junk!

BOZO – TIME TO RUN AWAY FROM THE CIRCUS
Roll up, roll up! It’s the creepiest show on earth. Hate clowns? GOOD! Face your fears through 9 holes of circus freaks and fairground creeps. Check out the Ferris Wheel, Hall of Mirrors and avoid some pretty sh*t scary clowns. Time to run away from the circus.
