The Grand National 2022 takes place from 7 – 9 April. Here’s our ultimate guide to where to stay and what to do to make the most of your time in the city.
Where To Stay In Liverpool For The Grand National
There’s no shortage of hotels in the city but we’ve hand-picked our favourites from our experience of staying at these fantatstic hotels.
Innside Liverpool
Located on Old Hall Street, the recently opened Innside Liverpool hotel brings the luxury with its spacious rooms, Gino’s Italian Restaurant and the 360 Sky Bar that is perfect for evening cocktails. Innside is in a great location for travelling to the races as you can get the train from Moorfields station just across the road, which will take you straight to Aintree and back.
Malmaison Liverpool
Another top choice is the Malmaison Liverpool hotel which offers luxury boutique rooms, a fantastic restaurant, a cosy bar and nice views over the River Mersey. It’s just a short 5-10 minute walk to Moorfields train station. After a hectic day at the races you’ll be able to unwind for the evening, with everything you need at the Mal. Located in a nice peaceful spot on the water, you’re close enough to the action of the city centre, but you can enjoy a more tranquil atmosphere here.
The Shankly or Dixie Dean Hotel
If you’re looking to continue the theme of a sporty weekend then you might want to opt for either The Shankly hotel or The Dixie Dean hotel, which clearly set out their allegiances to Liverpool and Everton respectively. These hotels are both suitable to small and large groups and again, they’re excellently located for travelling to the races via Moorfields station.
