Dr Orange Releases New Single ‘W.C.B.T’

Dr Orange has returned. If you’re unfamiliar, we’ve been following his music for a while with his last track Chinatown gaining huge reviews from Clash, Bido Lito Louder Than War to name a few.

His unique mix of ‘hi-frequency rock & roll’ hasn’t waned with his latest release W.C.B.T, which proves to be another fantastic project with producer Jon Withnall (Coldplay, Rihanna) who helped create his debut material ahead of his eagerly awaited debut shows. After his previous four singles ‘W.C.B.T.’ aims to grow on his successes and establish Dr Orange as one of Liverpool’s rising stars.

With fuzzy guitars and a pounding beat, W.C.B.T is a song driven by its unfailing drums and catchy guitar riff. Dr. Orange’s hazy vocals nest perfectly atop the production, creating a song to put on repeat. Its sound bridges the gap between modern and classic rock with guitar riffs and snappy snare all contrasting with doubled vocals and a no-nonsense format to create a 60s throwback.

“W.C.B.T’ started off as a little jangly pop song that I wrote and recorded a while back”, explains Dr Orange. “It was only actually when I was listening back to it months later that I decided to add the big riff, making that the focal point of the song. I feel like It’s definitely got similarities to my debut single in terms of its intensity and ballsiness, and it’s without a doubt one of my favourites to play live.
Lyrically I guess it’s about liking someone who’s not interested in you which in turn just makes you like them more – there’s definitely some really cool lines in there. It’s for sure got some apocalyptic space rock vibes going on which just get bigger and bigger as the tune goes on – it’s a proper bop.”

With plenty of interest building around Dr Orange, his releases are showing no signs of slowing. Make sure to catch his live show it’s going to be massive!
