5 Alternative Nights Out In Liverpool

When you visit a great city such as Liverpool, there are many ways to enjoy an entertaining night out. You could go to Anfield or Goodison Park for the football, though the latter isn’t that thrilling these days. There are lots of pubs, of course, and cinemas to visit.

But how about doing something a little bit different?

Here are five alternative nights out in Liverpool that you need to try out.

The Cheese Crawl

You know all about pub crawls, the kind of night that you struggle to remember the following morning. The Cheese Crawl is similar but without the threat of a hangover, well nearly.

How about spending part of a Saturday in Liverpool being shown around the amazing sites that this famous city has. You’ll end up at some of the top places in the city selling cheese. It’s not a trip to the local corner shop, though.

You’ll be tucking into some tasty (and hopefully not too smelly) cheeses with some prosecco. There’s also the chance to find out how the top cheeses are made.

You do need to book in advance for this entertaining and slightly alternative trip around Liverpool. But this is one time you won’t complain if it all gets rather cheesy. Of course, the city has plenty of great dining spots should you still be hungry.

The BierKeller

What type of music do you listen to on a night out? Is it the latest chart hits or the golden oldies? Some jazz, perhaps, or songs from the shows? If you want an alternative night out in Liverpool, go to The BierKeller.

At The BierKeller, you’ll be entertained by live Oompah bands and DJ sets. You’ll be clicking steins and having a dance on the benches. But be careful with the latter, as that can become a bit more difficult after a few drinks.

Discover, too, if you have the legs to wear lederhosen and headwear that doesn’t make you look silly. There’s a great variety of events held at this venue, even including watching World Wrestling Entertainment live events on their big screens.

A night out in a casino

As you might expect, there are plenty of casinos in Liverpool. Going to one on your trip to Liverpool means an entertaining night out. Casinos are great places to relax with fine dining and swanky bars, plus you get to chance your luck at table games, slots and different types of poker.

The scene is set for a great alternative night out. You can have some snacks or a full-scale meal. Most casinos also show live sports on big screens, so there are lots of things to do.

Then you can head to the tables, and hopefully, your luck will be in, and you can cash out some chips.

FunnyBoyz

The past few years have seen drag queens become increasingly popular. The RuPaul Drag Race has played a big part in this boom. You can now have a fun night out at the FunnyBoyz club in Liverpool.

There are plenty of events held every weekend. You could try your luck playing Benidorm Bingo, for example. If it’s a boozy night out you fancy, then why not book up for the FunnyBoyz Ultimate Drag Queen Bar Crawl?

Alternatively, you could go to the Philharmonic Dining Rooms on Hope Street. That’s where the FunnyBoyz Extravagant Bottomless Brunch event is held. Some great comedy and cabaret plus a two-course meal and a few drinks, too.

Lane7 Liverpool

Here’s another sporting night out in Liverpool that doesn’t entail cheering on the Blues or the Reds. There is a lot to do at Lane7, and a night out here is ideal for groups just looking for a fun time. It’s probably even more entertaining than listening to ‘Penny Lane.’

There’s ten-pin bowling in a very colourful setting. There is a big sign on the wall saying ‘Shut Up + Bowl.’ But you can’t stop shouting when a strike comes along – that’s always something to boast about.

It’s not just ten-pin bowling that you can indulge in. There’s also the chance to play American pool and ping pong. This great venue also has arcades packed with the top games. After all that activity, settle down to enjoy a night out in their bar.

However, don’t sit down for too long; get up and sing as they also have karaoke or play a game or two of darts.
