Two New Bars Set To Open In The Baltic Triangle Tonight

The Botanical Garden, the idyllic hideaway nestled away in the Baltic Triangle, is set to open two brand new spaces on Friday 30th June in Liverpool.

Dockleaf and Kiosk are both stunning venues for very different reasons; each is set in a part of Liverpool’s rich history, placed in the grounds and the actual main building of the immense and historic Cain’s Brewery. Yet they both have the same DNA, too, featuring a range of food and drink in environments which further continue to enhance Liverpool’s reputation as a destination for those seeking something inspiring and mesmerising.

Dockleaf is a grand drinking hall for large social groups all the way through to couples seeking intimate sanctuary away from the city, set in the original quality control room of the brewery. Drawing on the rich history of the iconic red-brick construction while softening the tone with elements of nature creates a harmonious environment during the day and night. Beautiful features include a polished marble bar top, antique Liverpool safe and globe bar in vintage tiled room that houses the stone placed by Robert Cain on completion of building the brewery. There’s also an outdoor area accessed through towering old doors, further enhancing the sense of place and escapism.

In keeping with The Botanical Garden’s already famed curation of amazing cocktails, there are plenty to savour at Dockleaf, taking in five distinct styles inspiring some mouth-watering creations linked to the brewery itself; Harvest, Grain Silo, Fermentation Tank, Filtration Room and Mashing Room each feature incredible cocktails and a wide range of craft beers from around the world. There are also vintage spirits and an ever changing selection of wines to keep everyone’s palettes fresh. The drinks menu is created by Conor Foley, previously of Miyagi, Lucha Libre and 69 Colebrooke Row. Liverpool Disco Festival’s residents will be hosting a Friday night residency, with more to be announced soon.

The very much intimate Kiosk is set in the old Cain’s Brewery site – housed in what was once the security hut – is quite possibly one of the coolest and most quirky venues in the UK, and certainly the city itself. As the seasons change so will the drinks and food menus; the first stop is Italy, Ferragosto, which is the classic celebration of the summer. For the coming balmy weeks, expect stripped-back chilled vibes with crisp Italian wines, vermouths and Michael Carey from the fantastic Ta’amiya will create a daily changing food menu, including a Spuckie championing four succulent cured meats from different towns in Italy. The venue will hold 20 people inside and there will be space for up to 50 outside, with a retro-kitsch feel, from the black and white lino to Italian maps adorning the walls. With the brewery towering behind, Kiosk’s outdoor drinking terrace will be a fine location for lazy days and evenings away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Both venues launch on Friday 30th June at the Cain’s Brewery in Liverpool.

Dockleaf is open Wednesday to Monday 5pm-late, and Saturday and Sunday is open from midday until late.

Kiosk is open Midday-11pm Thursday to Sunday, or whenever it is sunny.
