Rock, Roll And A Pasta Bowl – Trattoria 51 Encourages Liverpool Runners To Load Up On Carbs Ahead of Marathon Weekend

Trattoria 51 is helping Liverpool’s runners to prepare for upcoming races as part of Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon weekend (May 19 – 20).

With studies showing that ‘carb-loading’ is an efficient method of preparation ahead of a long-distance run, the Old Hall Street eatery is encouraging race goers to stock up on the food group courtesy of its fresh, artisan pasta menu.

The city’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will see thousands of people take to the streets of Liverpool to tackle a 26-mile route, with runners advised to consume around 600 grams of carbohydrates prior to taking part in the race, which can be found in 2400 grams of pasta.

Trattoria 51 also offers gluten-free alternatives to 95% of its menu items, meaning that runners that suffer from food intolerances can still benefit from a much-needed carb intake in the form of delicious Italian cuisine.

Marathon runners will be offered a complementary glass of Prosecco with any main-meal when showing their Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon medal.
