Clap Clap At Constellations Liverpool

Clap! Clap! is a new, electronic project from Italian producer & Jazz musician, Cristiano Crisci, focused on the research and sampling of tribes, bands and singers originating from the African continent.

The music is a blend of African field recordings and samples, eclectic drum programming and synths with a hint of Hip-Hop, Juke and Footwork. The result is a carefully-tailored soundscape that aims to reproduce classic African rhythms in a contemporary way, or as Cristiano likes to call it – ‘future roots’ and ‘future rhythms’.

Since the release of 2014’s, ‘Tayi Bebba”, Clap! Clap! has gained a huge following all over the world, including support from BBC6 Music’s, Gilles Peterson. As well as having his track, ‘Viajero’ featured in the new Grand Theft Auto video game on Gilles Peterson’s ‘Worldwide FM station’’, Clap! Clap! will be performing at this year’s ‘Worldwide Awards’, at the request of Mr Peterson.

Clap! Clap! is best experienced live whilst he tries to convey a continuous dance that is febrile, tribal and hyperkinetic, but always balanced by the elegance and the essentiality of the elements used.

Supporting Clap! Clap! on the night will be DJ & Producer, TrueSelf, who, over the past few years has carved out a magical career for himself DJing and remixing for UK-based indie label, Atjazz Recording Company.

Further support comes from DJ, music enthusiast & crate-digger, Josh Ray who will be spinning his vast collection of obscure, hard to find records. Also taking to the bill is Ambionic Being – described as ‘a transcendental being communicating with the world through the medium of sound’, there’s no saying what will happen.
