Liverpool DJs Announced To Support Brazilian Legends 'Azymuth'

Azymuth, the legendary Brazilian jazz, funk, & samba trio come to Liverpool for a special live show to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic album, Azimuth.

Combining funk, soul and jazz with samba, Azymuth are the legendary Brazilian three-piece orchestra who were responsible for creating a new sound and genre of their own – ‘Samba Doido (Crazy Samba)’. José Roberto Bertrami, Ivan Conti and Alex Malheiros made up the trio originally – legendary musicians who together have released over 20 albums in four decades. Since reforming in 1995, they have delighted their fan base with their outstanding albums for Far Out Recordings.

Gavin Kendrick (Southport Weekender)

Gavin is a writer and record collector from Liverpool. Following a five year DJ residency at Ronnie Scott’s, he now spends the summer months between Croatia and Ibiza playing at SuncéBeat festival on the Dalmatian coast and on the beach terrace at La Escollera. Drawing from a collection of deep, rare and beautiful sounds, his selections are eclectic, ecstatic and inspired.

Beaten Tracks are a Liverpool-based collective of DJs, promoters and afficionados who champion the rare, the dusty and the forgotten… expect funk, soul, reggae, afrobeat, latin, hiphop, blues and jazz; leftfield beats and soulful enlightenment.

Josh Ray

A fresh face on the Liverpool circuit, Josh Ray’s kaleidoscopic music taste has begun to get him noticed. Warming up for Azymuth, you can expect the best in jazz-funk, tropicália and MPB sounds from the young selector.
