Liverpool Calling Festival will see the Kazimier Stage holding host to the “Brash guitar anthemia of the very highest order” (NME), East London indie rock band – Dexters, who, after the release of their upcoming second single ‘Start To Run’ at the end of May, will be one of the festivals major

After releasing their debut single ‘Recover’ back in 2012, the boys have headlined some sell-out shows including the London’s Queen of Hoxton, and opened for acts such as the Happy Mondays, The Courteeners and The View. Dexters went on to release their debut album ‘Shimmer Gold’ in March this year which is an instantly likable record, full of upbeat progressive-rock tracks combined with some pretty poetic lyricism.

The classic indie vocalist, Tom Rowlett compliments his narrative style of lyrics with a somewhat gritty tone of voice, which is apparent in their stand-out-track, ‘Shimmer Gold’, which also reflects a unique country-like resonance. The record channels some edgy festival vibes which, along with their 3 years of notable success will certainly win over the crowds at the Kazimier in July.

With a varied collection of influences ranging from the Strokes to the Kinks, Dexters have established bold and brash indie guitar bands that are destined for success. The five-piece are set to play a number of gigs during the festival season including Strawberry Fields and the British Grand Prix, with Liverpool Calling Festival on 26th July being a summer high point.
